3/23/2020 – Multimedia Storytelling
For this assignment my group worked on a Multimedia Story directly showcasing the ONU Strickler Planetarium. My group worked really well together when completing this project. Our best tactic was to divide and conquer. Kelli took care of the audio interviews with two current TA’s who are involved with the Planetarium. I worked on the video interview with Dr. Case, the director of the Planetarium. Bailey and Mikayla did a lot of hard work on the actual mechanics of the website, working on the pages and design. Nic helped out with the writing as well as some of the website mechanics.
As always, working in a group has its challenges with figuring out how to utilize everyone and how to work with each other’s schedules. Kelli and I intended to do the interviews all together, but with some missed communication and bad timing, we ended up dividing them. though this still worked, it would have been helpful to have an extra hand or a second brain to ask more developed questions.
Our team really worked together to utilize a multitude of different story forms. Having people from different concentrations and multiple perspectives in general, really rounded out our project. We had multiple sets of eyes going over every corner of every page. Each story form we used really made the website pop. I think this will be a big factor we will take with us as we work on the next big project. As we move forward to the next project I think we should really fully develop our storyboards to make them closer to what we really want. They were really helpful as we crafted the website, but I think it will be helpful to really utilize those even more for the next project. We can also be more creative with specific posts or other features of wordpress as this next project will be even bigger than the first. We have a lot of really neat tools to use, and I hope to utilize them more.
